The Museum of Human Kindness together with St Georges Theatre, are spreading kindness & joy throughout Great Yarmouth this summer.
The exhibition is now open and runs until the 31st August and features five visual artists (myself included) who have brought to life stories of kindness submitted by the general public, who live and work in Norfolk.
The online exhibition can be viewed by clicking here and features a variety of art forms including collage, sculpture, moving images and textiles.
My personal contribution was based on the story A Windy Day and was a chance for me to go back to my roots within fashion & textiles, to create a piece of art using stitch and fabric as my mediums, instead of my usual mixed media or clay.
I experimented with a few different mediums and styles before delivering the end result. Starting with some creative play on the sewing machine
Then switching back to my more familiar medium of paint and ink
The end result is a piece of artwork that is able to be hung so it can waft in the breeze, inspired by the felt kits that blew away in the original story “A Windy Day”.
